The heart of every HPC cluster is the compute server

The NEC HPC 1812Rd-2 is the cost and performance optimized HPC server of NEC which has been improved with experiences from the past generations of this product. Developed and optimized for standard HPC compute focused requirements this server is flexible to cover also memory and I/O intensive demands. Flexible support of various HPC network options is a must.

This flexible Mini Blade Server hosts four hot-swappable compute nodes with the reliability of redundant hot-swappable power supplies. The cooling design allows configurations with top-rank processors providing the highest clock rate and thermal load. Memory can be configured with either one or two DIMMs per channel. As storage devices SAS and SATA hard drives as well as SSDs are supported. For the HPC network both 40 Gbit/s QDR and 56 Gbit/s FDR is supported together with still an empty PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.

The HPC 128Rd-2 is the typical 2U power node for all demands targeting larger memory, more I/O slots, more hard drives and the possibility to add a GPGPU.

This Power Node covers all the demands which go beyond the limits of the 1812Rd-2. The two sockets can be configured with top-rank processors offering the highest available clock speed. Three memory slots per channel over maximal capacity for large memory demand. As storage devices SAS and SATA hard drives as well as SSDs are supported in eight drive cages in any kind of RAID configuration. I/O throughput with up to six PCI-Express 3.0 expansion slots. Including space, power and cooling for a GPGPU.
